This is not a car park... this is a metaphor.

I can't remember the last time I was properly bored.

Frustrated, yes. Tired, sure. But actually bored, for an extended period of time? That hasn't happened in a while.

There's something about the sweet endorphin kick that comes from reading delicious information nuggets on my phone that means boredom is basically a thing of the past.

Not only that, but there is now more good TV in existence than I physically have time to watch.

And in all this I worry that maybe I'm missing out on something important.

When is God going to speak to me, if I'm never looking for him? What if his voice comes in a gentle whisper and I can't hear it because my TV's too loud?

I hate being bored, but boredom was a symptom of a life lived less quickly. I miss that.

This is a video about searching for God in a over-busy, under-satisfying life.

I want the best moments of my day to be ones that my phone isn't part of. I believe those words in Jeremiah 29:13 that say if we search for God, with our whole heart, we'll find him.

I want to reclaim a bit of stillness in my life, so that I can give God the chance to reclaim a bit of me.
